The Speech, Language, & Hearing (SLH) Clinic provides the local community with quality speech, language and swallowing therapy and audiological services that meet the unique communication needs of clients and their families. It also provides supervised clinical training to students who are studying to become speech therapists and audiologists.
At the SLH Clinic, the clinical services are offered by clinical faculty members and student clinicians. Specialist Clinics are operated by the Unit’s clinical faculty members who are highly experienced in the field. Supervised Student Clinics are operated by students who serve under the supervision of clinical faculty members to provide diagnostic evaluations and therapy to clients of all ages.

Speech, Language, and Swallowing Clinic Services
Our speech and language clinic provides evidence-based, individually-designed, client-centered assessment and intervention for children and adults with speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders. Our goal is to help enhance these individuals’ quality of life through improved communication and swallowing experiences. Services are provided by qualified and experienced speech-language therapists and supervised undergraduate students. Specifically, we provide assessment and intervention for:
• Children with speech sound disorders
• Children with language disorders that are associated with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, hearing impairment, or attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders
• Children with developmental language disorders
• Children and adults with resonance and voice disorders
• Children and adults with stuttering disorders
• Children and adults with swallowing disorders
• Adults with speech and language disorders following a stroke, head injury or other neurological conditions
• Children and adults who use an alternative or augmentative communication system
Hearing Clinic Services
Our hearing clinic is fully equipped with state-of-the art equipment for comprehensive audiological and rehabilitation services for children and adults. As a University clinic, we offer unbiased opinions and a full range of services at affordable rates without waiting in line. Services are conducted by qualified audiologists and supervised postgraduate students.
Audiological diagnostic services
• Hearing Evaluation – Complete hearing evaluation for children and adults
• Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) Evaluation – For children (from 5 years old up) and adults
• Evoked Response Audiometry – Such as Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) evaluation, and Cortical evoked response audiometry (CERA)
Rehabilitation services
• Hearing Aids – Selection, Trial and Evaluation. A range of hearing aid brands and models are available
• Assistive Listening Devices – Demonstration, consultation and dispensing
